The Contrarian

“In the investment markets, what everyone knows is usually not worth knowing.”

Once again, American voters have the choice of the “lesser of two evils.”

The challenge for prognosticators like us is to guess, and it is a guess, of who will be the president. And then you have to guess what will happen under the policies of either. The answer to the above is probably as difficult as determining if there was a universe before the ‘big bang.’

Trump is popular because he hates the people and policies that so many thinking and informed Americans dislike. Many may not like the candidate, but they say he is the better of two bad choices: an egomaniac vs. a kleptomaniac.

Hollywood actor and producer Rob Reiner was a guest on TV expounding on his political philosophy.  “Many Americans are racists” he said. He was a supporting actor, called “meat head,” on a very popular TV program many years ago. He played the typical liberal. Judging by things he said, he is still playing his role of ‘meat head.’ Actually, if he were more observant, he would see that the minorities who were targets of racists for several hundred years, are thought of as the biggest racists themselves, according to a study in 2013.

The establishment admits that they are totally surprised by how wrong they were in their typical assessment of Trump’s popularity. The editor of a dying ‘news’ magazine said, “the problem is that we don’t know what Trump stands for.

Actually, in our opinion, the problem is that many Americans know exactly what the democrat opposition stands for. And that could be horrible, for Americans and the country.
