Here is an interesting article from Business Insider about Jeff Bezos’s opinion on the conflict brewing between Gawker Media and billionaire Peter Theil.Bezos made a very insightful statement at the Digital Media conference in Los Angeles recently, attributing the statement to Confucius. It was very profound!
When Bezos was asked about his opinion on the conflict brewing between Gawker Media and billionaire Peter Theil, he said,
“Seek revenge and you should dig two graves, one for yourself”
He also said that “The best defense when you are attacked is not retribution, but a thick skin.”
He has certainly had a thick skin after all these years, when even the least qualified commentators on Wall Street said how wrong he was. Remember, when Amazon branched out from books? Wall Street analysts said that was a big mistake and that he should stick only with books. Now Amazon is the biggest, most efficient retailer on earth.
The rest is history. Bezos says “The best way to avoid criticism is to do nothing in life”
We consider Bezos one of the top entrepreneurs in the world today. He is not an egomaniac but just goes about his continuously improving his business for the benefit of his customers.
