Over the past years we have found an alarming trend in our society. A trend away from privacy toward a “big brother” state overlooking our every move. This is the decline of one of our core American values. With the advent of intelligent and expansive technology, the federal government has gained the ability to watch most traffic on the web and peer into the doings on any individual. Craig Huey from Election Forum has more to say.
The Obama administration misused our intelligence community…and illegally spied on Americans.
In fact, the Obama team used it against his political opponents…misusing what is called “the FISA Court.”
The “FISA” law expires December 31st and is now up for renewal.
The House Intelligence Committee has passed the FISA Amendments Reauthorization Act of 2017 without making necessary changes.
The bill approves the renewal of the Section 702 information gathering permissions for 4 years…basically the same law.
It also expands the list of eligible spying targets.
The bill can now be voted on by the full House of Representatives.
I need your help to stop this…and protect our freedom.
What makes the situation even more critical is this: Lawmakers are expected to add this bill onto a budget package for 2018 that Congress must pass by December 8th to avoid a government shutdown.
If you are opposed to the federal government spying on American citizens who have done nothing wrong, click below to urge Congress NOT to reauthorize the Section 702 Amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA):
My view: The government does not need this power. It is up to us to stop the federal government from spying on innocent Americans. Powerful groups have convinced the government that it is OK and our congressional leaders have little reason to oppose it. Urge our government otherwise to help save our democracy.
